To me a big part of the fun of after you finish your car is sharing the experience with others. I like to go to car shows and cruz-ins and share the fun of the build. I hand out some FFR brochures and DVD's when I have them. I also bring a photo album of my builds from start to finish of all my builds so far. Here I am sharing with a Columbia High School boy the FFR stuff as well as telling him all about the experience. He is in an Auto Tech program at the school and was so excited to get the FFR stuff to take home with him. I really do not go for the trophy's, though I did get 1st in class. It is meeting with folks that love cars and talk to them about building these great kits. This car show raised money for the Auto Tech program, a worthty cause IMO.

Tom-
That's got to be a very thick book!
I am pleased to see that the auto shop programs are still hanging in there. Very little left where I am, and I am a bit surprised and disappointed.

Had a friend try to get me to go to a huge car show a few weeks back - later, he texted me and here was our exchange.....
Him - "Over 700 cars there today and I won a top 10 award."
Me - "I drove over 250 miles and won the admiration of countless kids at the gas station, lunch stop, and waving to me from the back of minivans."
Personally, I think I had a better day and just maybe helped mold a future car-guy or two.

That's the only reason I go to car shows - to spend time talking with other gear heads and future gear heads. That one on one conversation is a lot of fun. I got another box of brochures from FFR when I was there last month. I like to hand them out at races and shows.

DRIVE!
We've driven the Roadster in 5 different states in a part of the country were the states are good sized. The people we've met and hung out with because of this car are the best part of the hobby.. Get out and drive it!

Driving, cruise-ins, track days, club cruise weekends, London Cobra Show, Hot Rod Power Tour ... any and all reasons to get the Cobra out of the shop ... all are fun!! Put 130 miles on Elvis yesterday, driving up to Camping World to check on the status of repairs on our RV. I could have just called Camping World but it was a beautiful, cool and sunny day ... need I say more?! Made 21 miles per gallon, with a good amount of stop and go driving.
