Cheebus, I've been through a few online salvage yards, either don't have it or don't have search engines. I tried Flea bay but the place is lousy with JSDM EJ20 and they all have turbo, non-turbo, and "for your EJ25 swap" so I'm out of keywords.

I'm trying to make a price list for a no-donor swap, or maybe na-donor-plus-turbo-engine.

I just searched 2006 wrx engine and found a bunch. Update the year and I'm sure you'll find more. Did you look for part outs on Nasioc?

also, you mentioned the desert before, are you in Vegas?

What about these guys. This looks like a perfect donor

I searched our local PacNW guys and found a bunch too. The search was for Subaru Impreza 2006 engine assemblies. There are WRX turbo engines from $2500 to $3000. Also NA engines for a lot less.

The PacNW engines and cars are generally in better shape because we don't salt our roads. And they are happy to ship.

I bought a JDM six-speed tranny from JSpec Auto Sport in Virginia. I couldn't have been happier. https://www.jspecauto.com/ (https://www.jspecauto.com/)8409 Sanford Dr., Henrico, VA, 23228 - Tel: 1-804-525-6287, INFO@JSAMOTORS.COM or call 1-866-683-3747.

amen to this. I got an Oregon donor and the parts came apart by themselves.

Thanks for all the input, guys. It's helping me with my backup plan. I'm going through the copart process now. I found a couple cars close enough to not murder me with shipping, but the first auction was today. A few hours before the end, I got outbid by $50 (which was apparently enough to finally get through the reserve) and I decided not to get into a bidding war over a junker. A couple hours later, it's up for auction again next week, same lot number. I don't understand what happened there. Did somebody buy it and think he could get more on the next auction than what he paid plus all the fees?

And gator, I emailed the guys at B&R. They offered to put together a bulk deal, so I sent them a list of the parts I would likely need. Never heard back.Probably cost prohibitive with their labor instead of mine. Seemed like really nice guys, though.
