I purchased the factory five air filter kit for the coyote that summit bundles.
Went to install it today and the air filter does not fit. It is way to long. The below picture has it all hooked up but just sitting on top of the frame rail to show how long it is. No matter how I angle it there is no way it will work.
Really aggravating Summit includes this in the bundle and it is a $56 filter!
Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know the correct part number of the one that fits?
Thanks

I used the Spectre parts available through FFR and it worked fine even though I changed intakes to the SCJ.5908759088

Yup, exact same thing. See my post for the correct part number:

Thanks Duke. Got the part number from your thread and have one on the way. Now I have to return the other one. What a pain! Seems like in a prepackaged bundle made just for the car/engine combo they could get it right!

You couldn't have just shortened the tube??

I didn't feel that was a good option. The straight portion holds the MAF sensor so you cant cut two inches out of that. The 90 degree portion could be shortened but if you do that you would get into the bend and change the angle the filter ends up at. That I was afraid would give me a forward conflict instead of the side conflict I was now dealing with.

Got it, now I see the issue.

My guess is Specre changed their part in the last 4-6m and kept the same part number and the 4" bend use to be much sharper. Summit, Forte, et al all use the same part number which has always historically worked, but it's either the new coyote or the specre pipe causing issues now.

Ps, spin your MAF 180. It should be on the radiator side for best flow pickup.

Have a blue Spectre. Its 6.5" from the base of the collar to the top of the cone. The base of the cone is 6" in diameter.

FFR cone is sitting in a draw unused.

+1 on MAF location. Position is important, best rotate it.

FWIW My kit is an early 2014 & the supplied filter did not fit.
