I've been searching for an answer with no luck. Has anyone else had an issue with the radiator drain plug hitting the frame rail? I am using a 06 donor and the drain is on the passenger side. I can squeeze the radiator in, but the plug is firmly against the rail and I'm concerned that it will eventually brake off from stress. I could probable insert a bolt into the hole, but I'm curious if others have had this issue.

Many people had to raise the radiator to have the lower hose clear the steering rack bellows. Some have gone to making spacers for that purpose.

It's not the lower hose/steering bellows issue. It is on the other side. It is the drain plug and frame. I will try and post a picture tomorrow.

07 donor here. Not sure if my drain plug is the same as yours but on mine it is on the side of the radiator, right at the lowest point on the passenger side of it. It looks like a plastic wing nut. It doesn't hit the frame, but unfortunately, it is close enough to the frame to not allow me to unscrew it to the point where it can drain :(

I'd just sand the ears of the plug down enough that it will clear.... since you clearly aren't going to be able to use the drain plug for what it was intended :-\

My (aftermarket) radiator had the same problem. I went and made my own aluminum plug. The China made (most likely) had a weird undersized 1/4NPT fitting that I had to drill out and tap further for a plug made with a standard NPT die to actually fit. Machined it from hex stock so I could get a wrench on it. Can't get it out without unbolting the radiator first though.
