Hi Guys,

I Hoping  to need a DOT speedometer that has an odometer, trip, high beam and directional signals. I don't need a tach or engine gauges. I need something small like a motorcycle unit. Has anybody run across one? I've already searched the internet so just let me know if you already know of something.

Thanks,

Jack

maybe those? I currently working on doing a lot of fiberglass work on my car and once I get to the interior I am looking into something like this myself. I just have yete to find evidence if anyone has gotten this to work on a wrx or not. Gotta find that first before I send the money.

I am using this unit in my 818 http://kosonorthamerica.com/shop/motorcycle-mx/rx-2n/ I have it all wired up works great! Works with Subaru OEM fuel level senders as well! I wired it up to the OEM check engine light, OEM RPM signal, and the speedo is working off of one of my ABS sensors holes in the front(need to confirm its 100% correct still). I haven't posted much about it yet was waiting tell I finished up my dash on the car.

That's great!! Yeam I'm looking at that or the RX-1N also. RPM is over the top but like the look a little better. Did you have to get any of the options for it to work or is everything just cut from OEM cluster and wire it to the Koso?

That's right. I found things like that when I searched for motorcycle stuff.

I got the 10K version and since I have a Ej207 I have a 8K redline anyways woo! Not to wild on the RPM scale. I didn't get any extra options other then the oil temp plug. I put it in my oil pan so I got the adapter for that but that's up to you. You actually don't even need the whole cluster wiring at all I'm just running it all straight from the ECU. If you check out my wiring guide I talk a bit about it.

hey Red
I am running the speed off the front wheels also. (subie cluster) but only 5 pulses per revolution.
If you don't have the speedo going into the ECU, mine would limit the rpms of the engine.
Have you got that far in testing yet?
Bob

Driving around the block I haven't hit any hesitation at all what speeds are we talking? I'm running an ej207 v7 with a JDM ecu with the speed sensor check engine code disabled. Planning to go down a public street with a friend following me next week. But I have hit 6k rpm in 1st with no signs of any limit.

Update: Once I got into second gear and at a little bit more speed I hit fuel cut! So the JDM ECU will still end up needing a VSS installed to work.
