Not much guidance in the instructions on installing these. Does anyone have any tips? I am tall so this will be a fixed mount as far back as I can make it.
I realized as I started unpacking the box there is no mounting hardware of any sort in there. The FFR website indicates there should be so I have a message in to them to check on that.

My body is away at Whitbys for paint. I am tall so I am trying to maximize leg room. Does the lip of the body overlap the back wall of the cockpit? How close to the back wall can I mount the seat back? (Please keep in mind the high back seat will extend higher than the top of the fiberglass so it would need to clear any lip)
Does anyone have a picture of the back wall to body joint so I can see what I am dealing with?

Thanks

Don't even think about installing you seat w/o the body. You could, but you are talking 1/4 inches here and they matter especially when you are trying to go for max space for a tall guy. Also the left shoulder wing is very tight to the body. Trying for a fit you will be rotating the seat around the edge of the body. More upright gives more legroom. More layback may be more comfortable but sacrifices legroom. Some have found it necessary to bend the wing inward to clear. You may also be needing to make adjustments to pedals. I would armor the edge of the body and shim the seat base forward w/ chunks of 2x or 1x lumber while you try different positions. The good thing is you have a lot of options to do the best you can for you. But they aren't as easy as your daily driver.

Agree, don't put the seats in for keeps till the body is on the car. That said don't worry about the lip. The main interference point is at the floor where the chassis sheet metal tucks in to start the wheel well.

The seats left rear corner against that point will allow more than enough room for the body, lip included to go on. The rear cockpit bulkhead also slants back as it goes up & is not a pure vertical piece.

Lip is pretty much the same as the dash lip.

How can I go cart it without a seat installed?

I am sure someone will disagree with this but, install your seat belts. They will hold you and the seat in place. I have only go carted my neighborhood and stayed at 30 or less.

That's how they do it in the build school class, only seat belts and drivers weight. Then the instructor drives it around the parking lot and does donuts with lots of smoke. I would think a low speed go cart around your neighborhood would be a piece of cake.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I will definitely wait until the body is in place.
