The Coyote arrived with an in-tank fuel pump and a bunch of other parts. It's been aging in the garage for a month or two so it's high time that I do something about it! The challenge here is that neither the manual or the FFR Coyote instructions speak to this pump. So, off we go to Google for yet another search. Success! I found this thread: http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?13197-Wilbro-in-tank-fuel-pump-install-question
as well as this thread: http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?18533-fuel-pick-up

So, this "sock"

goes onto the bottom of the pump:

Got any tricks to get it on? The sock doesn't really want to stay put. So, the question is, what do I do with these parts? (the plastic ones...) Are they to hold the sock onto the pump? If so, got any photos of how they fit?

(the white stuff is paper towel to provide sufficient contrast) Thanks for your help!

The filter is a friction fit over the bottom of the pump. The tabs around the retaining ring in the filter hold it in place. Mine took some pretty healthy persuasion to get it started, but then it pushed into place. The tabs on the bottom of the pump hanger keep it in the proper orientation. Are you just having trouble getting it started into place, or does it go all the way on and remain loose? Maybe the tabs in the filter are bent the wrong way? But if it's new, they shouldn't be.

In your last picture, none of those are for the filter. The large ring is the retaining ring that holds the pump hangar in the top of the tank. There should be a gasket that goes in first. Then the pump, then the ring. It turns and locks into place. Same as the sender. I'm not sure what the other parts are.

Found this pic of mine during assembly:

Hard to see very well, but this is with the retaining ring installed:

The elongated black n white clips are for the factory fuel lines. They are safety clips, inserted after the push-on fuel line is installed. The old Fox body Mustangs used em on the external fuel filter.
