I see in the coyote instructions I need to change out the oil pressure sender.
When I remove the stock one is oil going to come out that hole?
What did you do with the stock plug that is no longer used? Just leave it hanging there?

Interesting how on the older FF Coyote instructions they showed using a "T" and keeping the Coyote sender and adding the aftermarket gauge sender. Now the new instructions say to remove the Coyote sender and replace with the aftermarket gauge. The new way assumes the Coyote PCM is no longer looking for or using the original oil pressure sender output. I don't have any way to confirm that, and frankly little/no downside to leaving the original oil sensor with the connector attached. So being the conservative type, I did mine with the "T" like the older instructions show. If you choose to do it as the new instructions show, just tie wrap the stock connector to some other cables in the area. Little/no oil will come out the hole when you do the work. There's only pressure there with the engine running.

Thanks Paul. I do not have the older directions so I guess I don't have an option but to do it the new way.

i didn't have the parts for a T either so I will do it as the new instructions state. Thank you for the info

On the '11-'14 Controls Pack, the factory oil pressure sender is irrelevant and not needed. The Controls Pack PCM does not read any signal inputs off of this sensor even though it comes with the crate motor. So it basically serves as a plug. I removed the sensor and cleaned up the plumbing by ditching the tee. I cut my sensor off the harness all together to clean up the wiring as well. With or without the tee works since it is a dead sensor.

Here's a pic with it cleaned up.

Nice work cleaning up the wiring there. I had heard the same thing (the oil pressure sensor isn't used) about the 2011-2014 Coyote. Mine is the 2015 version (same as wareaglescott) and I haven't heard whether it's active in that version or not. So I left it in. Same discussion about the oil level sensor in the oil pan. I left that one in too.

Yup, same issue on the oil level sensor as the oil pressure sensor. No input into the PCM for the '11-'14 series. Again, just a plug. Cut that one off too and cleaned up the wiring harness.
