I have two questions.

First, I'm building an MK4 roadster using a 1996 4.6 SOHC motor. The kit came with an oil filter relocation kit. I don't see why I need to use it. There seems to be plenty of frame clearance with the stock filter mount. Why is it included with the basic roadster kit, and do you recommend using it?

Second, I can't figure out how and where to mount the stock air intake, MAF sensor, and air filter. The stock Rubber hose doesn't seem to have the correct angles or length to fit in either the engine compartment or the wheel well. Do you have any pictures of a roadster using the 1996 stock set up? In the alternative, I have found an inexpensive aluminum cold air intakes on ebay.

Do you know if this will work on my the roadster, and will it be better than the stock intake (which doesn't seem to fit in stock condition)?

Thanks

Hello Joel,

I just talked with one of our techs about your questions. With the 4.6 SOHC you don't need to relocate the oil filter, supplied in the kit if your using a 5.0. You will need to modify the stock intake or us an aftermarket intake. If you have additional questions, give a Factory Five tech a call at 508-291-3443.
