So, thinking of doing a dark blue pearl with grey stripes. Now, would a solid grey or pearl grey look best ? Any pics of pearl colors appreciated, thanks

I guess it depends on how obvious the pearl is in the blue but I think I would go w/ a pearl grey or, at least a metallic. To me a solid grey would look out of place.

Solid gray tend not to be very attractive, go with pearl.

Pearls are not pearls like in the old days. Todays pearls are what is known as mica. Micas come in different colors, multi colors and sizes. Most metallics have been replaced by micas, Something with a fine metallic would work or if you go with the "pearl" you want to make sure it uses similar size and color micas as the body color...da Bat

If you use a speciality brand pearl it is actually suspended in the clear and can be sprayed over both your blue and grey. Then more plain clear is applied over the pearl. This is called three stage painting. We just painted my sons Monte Carlo this way.
