I'm using a 4 speed top loader in my build and wondering if anyone has used one of the ff5 driveshafts and did it work. If not does anyone have a source for this type driveshaft? Trans is short style with 28 spline

I really don't know how much input anyone can provide without more details. Including engine used, rear suspension, etc. Plus probably not many of us (for sure including me) know much about a top loader. Just not very common. Here in the U.S., typically there are local sources for driveshafts if not using one from Factory Five. Other common sources are Denny's Driveshaft in New York and The Driveshaft Shop in North Carolina. Both make custom driveshafts. I've used both and they are excellent. I don't know if they ship internationally.

We have a machine shop in Slidell, Louisiana that specializes in making drive shafts.
They've been in business for at least 40 years and will be doing mine.
I don't know if they ship internationally, but they might.
Below is their contact information:

Sorry I guess I should have been more specific, The rear is 8.8 straight axle. The real question should have been is the front of the drive shaft that goes into the trans (if they are both 28 spline) the same size on a tremec 5 speed and a top loader? I can figure out length, but want to try to use the FF5 driveshaft they sell and don't know if it will work with toploader.

I have a long tail shaft Toploader with the 28 spline output shaft and, yes, the FFR driveshaft for the T5 couples with that.

If you have short style, and John has the long tail, (of which the FFR driveshaft worked), my concern is as they come, it won't be long enough for your short style. Is his 28" and yours 24" length? Not worth buying the FFR shaft just to have to pay to have it lengthened. Certainly worth doing further research before committing. This is a list of some of the sizes that tranny came in..

Mine is the 24 inch 28 spline, John did you use the shaft and it was a direct fit or did you have to modify it at all for the length. Thanks Adam
