View Full Version : Am I going to be in trouble....
Am I going to be in trouble when it comes to mounting the body? I mounted the radiator and the top (radiator cap) is about and inch and a half above the tabs for the hood. I had to add 3/4" spacers to get the top mounting tabs to fit.

I'll try to post some pics later

Roy, I think you'll be okay. This photo is from the back of the radiator and shows the aluminum baffle I made in front of my radiator. Note that the top of the black bulbseal contacts the inside of the hood when closed, and it's at about 4.5 inches on the tape. So, my rad cap is at about 2" on the tape, which is 2.5" below the hood, so if your rad cap is 1.5" higher than mine, you'll be okay.

Also, I measured from the inside fender lip straight down to the top of the 3/4" rad frame, at the top front of the radiator, and got 15.5 inches. I hope this helps.

Roy, I have a 2007 donor as well. If you put the radiator into the stock mounting location as specified in the manual, with NO spacers, it will clear the hood just fine. However, the 2007 radiator cap is higher than the earlier models so if you raise the radiator, you may have clearance issues. I did. I tried using Rori's spacers which space the radiator up to improve clearance between the steering rack boot and lower radiator hose, but it moved the radiator too high and the cap hit the hood.
I ended up not using Rori's spacers and instead adding 3 washers between the radiator and the lower rubber bushings. This spaced the radiator up just enough so the hose would clear the steering rack bellows, while allowing the radiator cap to clear the hood. I think I have a pic of it in my build thread but not 100% sure.
