4 1/2 years after picking up my kit I have my appointment for the safety and technical inspection of my roadster. I originally planned it to be a 3 - 3 1/2 year project, a few big projects around the house and oh yea the birth of my two daughters delayed it just a bit, but no complaints from me.
I am nervous and excited, car is already on the trailer ready to go, hopefully this time tomorrow I will have my completed paperwork and be standing in line at the DMV waiting to get my title and registration.

Wish you luck. I remember the good old NJ DMV. Lived there for 19 months. I think I was up worrying the entire night before my Maryland inspection. Fortunately the Maryland DMV told me the dealer who sold me the car was solely responsible for the inspection and all the tag stuff that went with it. I wanted to be there but probably better I wasn't.

thanks guys, car is on the trailer and ready to roll. Hopefully by this time tomorrow the wife and I will just have gotten home from a nice dinner to celebrate. :-)

Guess you've left for DMV now...hope all goes well. They might snag you for paint being too shiny and risking blindness to other drivers.
GOOD LUCK, we're all waiting to hear...

Back from DMV, over-all it went pretty well, though I was given a short list of things that they want me to address, all of them pretty small. I had some flex lines zip tied that they want either to hang free or be secured with something other the a tie, the e-brake cable is too close to the wheel, IRS... I think I can pull it in and secure it, I had a small weep on the coolant, and for some unknown reason the high beam indicator wasnt working, and the biggest issue being that the car was too LOUD... Maybe when he asked why it was so loud I shouldn't have said WHAT???
I can't complain though they were very professional, I actually thought he was going to pass it with conditions, but gave me a form and said when I come back they just have to check those items so it should be much quicker. He was very complimentary of the build over-all which made me feel pretty good.
Guess I will be measuring the ID of my headers Saturday and ordering some zoomie inserts :-)

Bummer it didn't pass! Sounds like easy things to fix other than the noise. Are you still planning on coming to the open house?

Brian, not going to make the open house, would love to have made it up, especially to see you play!!! Maybe once the car is legal I can make a special trip :-)
And... can you make sure to get that blue indicator light I ordered online today out quick lol. I'm looking at options on the sound now, there is a pipe insulation method that might be a quick and cheap solution, but also going to look at getting the Car Chemistry Zoomies that fit into the header as a longer term solution.

Way cool, Scott!! Hey...why is it that when I went to Lowe's this morning, they were completely sold out of steel wool? :^)
