Ok, time to put the rear view mirror on. Bought a cheap small one, but it doesn't fit in the holder that came with my windshield. Is there a mirror that fits this holder?

Or an adaptor for it?
My mirror was cheap, so it could easily be replaced.

That is the adapter for the Subaru mirror. Heat gun or hair drier and a bit of patience and it will come off easily.

A while back someone posted that they used a universal mirror from Advance auto parts:

Putting cheep parts on a car may end up being like throwing your money away. Getting a decent used one may be a better alternative. Being that this is basically a Toyota MR2 windshield, a mirror designed for this would be the closest fit. In fact most mirrors would fit, except those having wires going to them.

I had an 07 donor and it came with an auto dimming mirror. The mount for the auto dimming mirror is different from the mount for the non auto dimming mirror. The bracket FFR provides with their windshield is for the NON auto dimming mirror so I just bought the non dimming mirror from the Subaru dealer and it popped right on.

As far as buying cheap mirrors, if it works, it works.

Do you remember how much that was?

The one I bought was similar to the one above from advance auto parts. with this mirror I would have to remove the piece that came with the windshield and glue the metal piece that comes with the mirror to the glass to accept the mirror. can someone take a picture of there mirror and specifically the area where the factory five (or MR2) mirror bracket is? Before I remove it I want to make sure which route to take, I wasn't aware the bracket was for the oem Subaru Mirror (unfortunately I didn't save mine but it was the wired type anyways)

I went to a junk yard and got a good clean mirror from a legacy that fit perfectly. I think it was $5 + the cost to get into the u-pick yard.

I have the fancy auto mirror and mine came with the proper mount... Damn thing is too heavy and vibrates too much tho. I need to get a simpler, lighter mirror
