As I was trying to figure out the best route for my clutch cable I realized that my 4.6 4V is making contact with my steering shaft, I was wondering what was the best way to solve that problem. Also wondering the best route for my clutch cable.

You may want to adjust how the engine sits in the motor mounts. Sorry I don't have a picture to show, but I have about a half inch between the head/valve cover and the steering shaft. I am running manual steering (no comments please, lol), so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. As for the clutch cable, still working on that route myself.

I'm having the same issue. Motor is already sitting on spacers. If I could shorten the steering shaft an inch, I would have plenty of clearance. As it is I can't take the steering shaft out unless I remove the steering rack bolts. Anybody ever shorten the steering shaft?

Would it be possible to use offset steering rack bushings to get just enough movement to get the clearance you need? Just a thought.

You want it that way. It is much safer to have it captured like that.

Is there any chance that you have your motor mounts on the wrong sides? Not sure if the 4.6 mounts are side sensitive.

I have about 1/4" clearance at the closest point with no issues and I did nothing special to obtain that clearance.

Would moving the steering shaft bearing on the front of the foot-box to inside the foot box help? I did this for clearance for my brake-booster.

the breeze offset steering rack bushing did the trick good to go now.
