Does anyone make plexiglass (or better yet, Lexan) replacements for the sun visors? Don't need the hardware. Deep Purple is a cool band but a lousy color for older visors!

I know ********** (supporting vendor) sells them, or you could buy the plexi and make your own.

You can buy a section of Plexiglas, if you want to cut your own. Home Depot carry's it, as I imagine other building centers would.
I bought some clear plexi for when I built a custom canopy for my Toyota FJ45 Landcruiser pick-up, as I wanted something that wouldn't shatter when off-roading. I used a jig saw with a fine tooth blade to cut it. It came out great, although as it was going in a frame I wasn't worried about polishing the edges. Couple ways of doing that, so it would be worth doing some research to see which might be best for you.
Lot's of tips for working with it here.. http://www.bcae1.com/plexi.htm

suggest using scratch resistant polycarbonate. Also suggest researching edge treatment. Look for chemical polish

As mike said, use Lexan (polycarbonate) over the Plexi (acrylic)...

I went with a smoke color polycarbonate and wet sanded the edge. They came out real good.

Where did you buy the smoked polycarbonate, I'd like to do the same.

Found on McMaster-Carr, of course.

The visors are 4" x just under 14" so the 12x12 sheets won't quite do it. Gonna give it a try.

I went to a local plastics shop and they cut new ones using my cracked one as a pattern. Ask them to use a torch to get the really nice smooth edges. I think it was about 20bucks for 2 new plexi wings.
If you want lexan, be sure to get the lexan with the anti scratch coating (without the coating, lexan is softer than plexi) , and be prepared for a higher cost.
