I've got my drivetrain installed, I noticed I can spin the tires while the car is in gear. When I looked under there you can see the fingers on the pressed plate are depressed. My question is, is the throw out bearing Mike forte sends you a smaller size than the one that comes in the ram clutch kit? It looks as if I installed the wrong one.

Is your clutch adjusted too tight? Back off on the cable adjuster and see if you can get the slack needed.

The cable isn't even hooked up, the fork is bottomed out against the bell housing

Oh wow.

Do you have the ram one? Can you compare it to the one in the car?

And, is the clutch disk in correctly? There is motor side. I'm not sure what will happen of backwards, but it's only other thing I can think of. The FE setups aren't my thing.

The disc only fits one way, the springs hit the flywheel if I turn it over. It is the ram bearing, the one forte sent me seems to be about 1/4 in thinner.

Then yes, assuming all other parts are correct and correctly assembled (clutch fork on ball correctly, bearing seated in fork correctly), sounds like you need the thinner bearing.

Just spoke to Mike at forte, they are two different throw pout bearings. The one with the clutch kit is a gm, the one he sent is the thinner one and I may have the fork in too short/long not sure. I will find out this evening

Do you have an adjustable ball for the fork? If so, it's probably adjusted too high. IIRC, it should be no more than 2" from the boss face.

Are you sure the fork is attached to the bearing correctly?

Once installed, you should have 2-3" of space between the back of the clutch fork and the bellhousing.

Yes, yes, I have seen the bearing installed in the clutch fork incorrectly before. double check

So how did you install the transmission or bell housing with that much force against the bearing?

I kicked the clutch fork lol. I thought it wasn't right but I just kept on keeping on lol it was my pivot ball was too long. Cut about an inch off of it now it's gravy. Now I'm waiting on a crank pulley and a steel gear for my dist and I'm carting.
