I just installed engine(390)Fe and trans( tko600) the front u-joint is hitting 4"tube??? I don't see what I did wrong. Looked through the the manual and don't see anything. Even in the big block appendix

Sounds like you need a spacer under the transmission mount. Quite common for many engine/trans combinations, but not mentioned in the manual as I recall.

Awesome! What about my driveshaft being to long? It 7 3/8 on center but don't fit.

Sorry. Now I'm confused. Sounds like it doesn't fit and that's the reason it's hitting the 4-inch tube??? I can't give you a dimension. But basically the slip yoke should slide all the way into the back of your TKO. Right up against the little rubber seal on the back. At that point, the other end should just clear the U-joint and go into place. You may have to turn the driveshaft or the diff joint a bit either way to get the right angle for it to clear. When pulled to the U-joint, a little of the slip joint will be exposed. Typically 1/4-3/8-1/2 inch.

If the driveshaft won't swing into the U-joint with the slip yoke all the way in, then it's too long.

Yeah it seems to be about an inch to long, I'm going to research more maybe I have the mounts on backwards

The drive shaft is about an inch short.

Donnie,

If you want my extra drive shaft, so that you can cut that one down instead of yours, let me know.
It's the standard shaft, about 10.3" in length, that is used for the 3 link and I know I won't be using it.
I just want to keep the flange that attaches it to the differential, but you can also have the yoke for an extra.
