It's impossible to get a standard 7/8 socket on the nut. Will a thin wall deep socket work and not break when torqued to the specified 75#.

Actually Bill the hardware used for the spindle to adapter is metric; 21mm for the bolt and 24mm for the nut. A metric socket might fit better.

I know the correct size impact socket wouldn't fit so I bought a cheap one that worked.

I tried the metric socket. Still doesn't fit. Guess it's off to Sears today for a thin wall socket

Bill, just to be clear, you are talking about the nut on the ball joint that goes into the top of the spindle adapter.

Well, Seras doesn't carry thin wall sockets in their store. Have to order online. The local hot rod shop didn't have the AN parts I needed. Will have to source from Jegs or Summit Racing. What a lousy day

EDIT: I made my own thin wall socket with a flap wheel on my grinder
