I have 16k miles on my rebuilt ‘93 302 Roller, GT-40P ported heads, GT-40 intake (EFI), FMS F-cam.
When I built my roadster I installed a New Mallory Promaster E Series Ignition Coil / heatsink MAA-30440. (less than 4 years old)
About 2 weeks ago, my car just died, no warning and no improvement after it sat and cooled off.
After determining that I had no spark at the plug, we replaced the Mallory Coil with a spare OEM unit and it fired right up.
Although I really liked the look of the Mallory Heatsink mount, the OEM units do not fit, so I may need to go with a whole new one (?)
Looks like Summit no longer has them available.
Found this one on JEGs: MSD Ignition 29209 - MSD/Mallory Replacement Items (http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchResultsPageCmd?Ntt=mallory+coil&requestYear=&storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&year=&make=&model=&submodel=&engine=&Nrpp=&No=&persistYmm=false)
$377.95!!!!!! WTH?
Any suggestions for a reliable replacement? (for less than $378!)
