Anyone else who has fitted new power-window equipped doors had any trouble interfering with windshield steel frame? Mine does not seem to fit without substantial interference. I think I am supposed to be using the rear door hinges, yes? Any hints out there!

I have not tried fitting my original non-power window door frames, but that is next.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Ben, I've just finished fitting my left side door with the new power window frame, though I have not yet installed the window. The door was previously mounted with the old door frame. I don't have any interference between the top of the door frame and the steel frame of the windshield. Actually, there was a 1/2" gap between the bottom of the windshield A pillar and the door so I elongated the bottom of the oval holes in the door frame to raise the door about 1/4". It's been so long since I got the donor hinges that I really don't remember if they are from the front or the rear of the donor. Can you elongate the tops of the oval holes in the door frame to drop it down a bit? As long as the bottom of the door is about 3/8" above the side sail, and the hinges work, I don't think the door will care what hinges you have.

I got it. There is a lot of adjustment in the slots on the chassis door frame and the slots in the windshield frame....I was not using enough of them. Thanks for the quick replies! I found that I just needed to lift upwards harder while tightening the bolts. I was letting the windshield fall too low and thus causing the frames to interfere.

Thanks again!
