How difficult would it be to retrofit my completed MKI, which has the standard, hang below battery carrier, with an FF Metal Battery Box? This weekend I went to start the Beast and the battery went off like a bomb trying to get a blown up, leaking battery out from under the car.....well enough is enough.
Has anybody done this?
Have any Pics? If so, let me know.
Thanks, Steve

I installed a battery box in my MKII a couple of winters ago with no issue. I felt much better with the battery secure. If you have a 3 link or are ever thinking about a 3 link you will have to install the box slightly offset. It will not fit in the stock location. I also needed to install the Russ Thompson rear trunk hoop. My version of the MKII had a straight bar going across and I could not load the battery in from the top. Well worth the investment. Sorry for the lack of photos. I didn't document that well back then. The car has since been sold and now working on a coupe. Enjoy!

do you have any images of how it's installed?
I put some rubber hose around my battery to be sure it does not move.

Not sure if that would help but it does sound like the battery terminals connected to something.
