Probably been asked a thousand times, but picked up my kit got the upper and lower a arms with it. Now trying to get the front brake set up and spindles. which year mustang should I get spindles and which year brakes are best and will fit the 15 inch wheels?

I think the '94 / '95 SN95 Mustang GT front spindles are the best option. Clean them up and have them sandblasted and powder-coated. look like new and will work great with 15" wheels

The 94-95 GT and V6 brakes are the same and are single piston. I have the complete 95 setup on my car including the shuttle valve. The brakes are manual with the pedal modified as per FFR instructions and I used the Whitby adjustable push rod. The shuttle valve was gutted to remove the proportioning valve section. Brake balance is very good with the fronts locking just prior to the rears. The pedal is firm and requires moderate effort but the brakes are easy to modulate.

Dual piston front callipers would only increase front brake bias making a change to the rear brake setup necessary to get back to a balanced position. I did a lot of research and decided that slightly more pedal effort was an acceptable trade off to achieve a balanced system.

PS

The calliper mounting bracket compatible with 15 inch wheels will have 15 stamped on the top caliber mounting ear. You can see it if you zoom in on the picture.

I have 95 GT spindles and brakes under 15" FFR Halibrand replicas. They fit fine. Not sure about the larger diameter Cobra rotors and twin piston calipers? I think(?) they are too big to fit under 15s. Others will have to confirm.

Thanks guys
I thought I read somewhere that you can put 2002 or so brakes on the 94 spindles with twin piston calipers and they fit under 15 inch wheels

You may be right but I think you want to be very specific about each of the components used to be sure you get a combo that fits. Some aftermarket big brake packages might seem externally similar but a very small change can make all the difference.

Was thinking about using the 99 newer two piston calipers, looking back in threads found info, even question I had asked before and it seems the consensus is 94-95 spindle with newer two piston brakes will work. Couldn't find specifically if anyone uses this combo with 15 inch wheels though

I would use the new FFR spindles. They have better geometry built in and you dont need to use the adapter and come with new hubs as well. Front brakes are from 2005 mustang i believe dual piston.
