View Full Version : My Roadster isn't going to the Open House this year. I'm sad about that...

Hey all,

There was a distinct possibility that I might actually drive my Roadster the 6 1/2 hours to the Open House this year. For those that are familiar, I've been every year that I've been finished but always trailer.

Anyway, an odd thing happened... I pulled the torque converter out about a month ago to 'finally' replace it with one that had a high enough stall (It's never been a right match for my engine). Summit Racing had the right one that I needed (2600rpm stall) and said it would ship two days after I ordered it. Long story short, it back ordered for two weeks but miraculously, shipped a couple days into the back order. I thought that was strange but installed it anyway. It turns out to be the wrong converter (no lockup) and I'm very disappointed. They've shipped out what they tell me is the right one now but the trans has to come out again and there's not a way that the new one will be here in time to get it installed and tested for this weekend.

I'm sure the lady on the phone had no clue on how impactful them sending the wrong part was. She wasn't very good at the 'customer service' aspect of her job.

I'll be there but am disappointed.

You're installing an auto? Well, there's your problem!

I'm just kidding. I've never been able to go to an open house. I thought this was going to be my first one, but I just can't do 12 hours each way.

It'll be great to see you either way. If the weather cooperates we are seriously worried about engineering in enough parking space! Cant wait to announce the Robert Fed Award
