Have to admit I don't really understand the quick jacks all that well. I believe they're useful for aligning the body when the time comes, but I assume they aren't really needed for any other purpose. I'd like to delete them (think the car just looks cleaner without them), but want to make sure I'm not gonna regret it later. I also need to make a trip to the powdercoater, so now's the time to get them coated if necessary.

So my question is...can I install and align the body using the quick jacks as intended, and them remove them once the alignment is set? Or is this a bad idea?

Thanks!

Your best best is to ask FFR, as it is their design.

Both front and rear quick-jack tubes/mounting bolts are vitally important to keep the body on the car and in the proper position. So you can't just remove them completely. Quick jack deletes that I've seen keep the mounting bolt mechanism in place but flush to the body without the actual Q-J's. Or some kind of mounting mechanism on the side of the body to the Q-J locations. Another option is overriders instead of Q-J's. They do give a little more of a "finished" look IMO. One other consideration is the legal and safety requirements. Some state titling/licensing requirements are that bumper of some kind are installed. Q-J's don't offer much protection, but typically still qualify as bumpers.
