Hey guys, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with Prestige Motorsports in North Carolina? I'm looking at motor builders and they seem to have a really good product and from what I can tell friendly, helpful service. If anyone has any experience with this builder please let me know either by posting or through PM.

Can't speak about them from personal knowledge but Concord is in the heart of the NASCAR team shops country. They have this rating:
Reviews. 4.9. (4.9 of 5 stars out of 76 reviews) ... on Facebook
One of our guys posted this a ways back

I would go with Levy Racing if you are looking for a Ford engine

I looked at Levy but he doesn't build a 427. His 351's are all 408's. They look like they make good numbers and he is on my short list for engine builders. I was just curious about Prestige because they build a 427 in various forms including a 500 hp version utilizing an OEM block.

408 in a 351 block makes a bunch of power and requires little/no clearancing. 427 in a 351 block requires clearancing for the longer 4.170 crank. Some engine builders will do it. Others recommend going to a Boss or Dart block when going 427.
Not a forum vendor, but if you're looking for a quality engine builder, I'd recommend Fordstrokers. Jim did the Dart 347 in my Mk4 and it's an awesome engine.

Ford Racing offers a 427 based on the Boss 351 small block (4-bolt mains). Good specs, big power, and includes a 2 year / 24000 mile warranty direct from Ford. Got mine from Jegs for a very reasonable price and they even shipped it for free.
There are a few different variants of this engine available. The front sump version is probably the best choice to avoid ending up with an oil pan that hangs down below the roadster frame rails. Ask me how I know :o

I have a Ford Racing 427/W. Got it from Forte's but I would shop price since there does not seem to be any advantage one way or another. I have the X heads which are a little tamer than the Z. With Holley Terminator EFI I get 464 h.p. dynoed at the flywheel. The idea of a national warranty and a new block and all new components sold me in a second. It has been trouble free for 2600 miles. Would do it over in a bling. Old school with new parts. Best of both worlds. Looks good also.
