I picked up my MkIV kit in March. I noticed today that the DS inner (engine side) aluminum looks different than all the pictures that I have seen. It is now two piece and is bent to be thinner at the top. It now fits tight up against the 3/4" tube. I called FFR to verify I had the right aluminum since I'm using a SBF and Courtnie told me that this is how all of the kits come now. I assume they want a one size fits all.

This is giving me trouble with the RT throttle Pedal since the bolt pushes out past the 3/4" tube (in red circle) and this panel needs to be flush against the tube and it’s being bowed out by the bolt head.

Russ is happy to modify the pedal to fit the new aluminum. But, since I'm using a Small Block Ford, would I be better off finding the old sheet metal and having the extra foot room? Any thoughts?

The new sheet metal has the same space for your feet as the old. It's up higher that the space is traded from the footbox to the engine compartment. Personally, I'd figure out how to use the RT pedal. Should be pretty easy. Since this is now standard, I would think Russ would be interested to come up with a solution for all future purchases. Even though a small block, you'll welcome the extra space for access to the header bolts, plugs and plug wires, etc. That's my opinion, FWIW.
