Just thought I'd post this picture for those of you who are trying to decide how or if to treat your wheel well aluminum... this is a representative sample of my wheel wells after 4,200 miles of pure driving enjoyment. I keep the car very clean, but haven't done anything with these at all... just accumulated lots of road grime - and patina.

These are untreated and, to me, look just like they should on a car that the owner enjoys.

Have a DD but did add the plastic fender liners to the car. Was not for looks but to keep the gumballs from flinging stones into the underside of the fender & staring the paint.

As a side benefit they are very slick & don't seem to hold onto the road grim.

Patina is a good thing! I washed out my wheel wells because of my "close encounter of the Bambi kind" I had on my way home from open house. Other wise I leave that area alone also!
Remain calm and drive on, Sten
