I broke all the rivets holding the hood to the hinge. This time it was the drivers side. Any suggestions on what I can do to prevent this from happening in the future.

Drilled and installed nutserts in the hood. then fastened the hinges with 10-32 button head screws. you can add alittle epoxy to the hood hole while installing the nutsert to hold better. the material is thick there and has a thin layer of aluminum or steel sandwitched in the middle so you might get away with a longer steel rivet

Did you break the rivets during installation or did they break while in use? I'm assuming the latter. Using nutserts would work. Or go to a higher strength steel or SS rivet vs. the provided aluminum rivets. What I do though is add 3M HSRF while riveting to bond the bracket to the hood in addition to the rivets. I rough up the back of the bracket and the contact area on the hood. I actually do this before paint so the bracket is painted along with the hood. Same for the gas strut mounting points. Not only are they permanent, looks much more finished.
