Is there any sort of firewall that separates the engine compartment from the passenger compartment on the 818c? Im concerned with the in cabin heat and also fumes in the cabin

Yes, there is a 1/8" aluminum firewall between the engine and interior. I will insulate mine for sound and heat.

What about above the top bar? Would it be track approved? Any pics?

Of course there is a way to seal the area between the top bar and the hard top. Though my hard top arrives next week, I believe bulb-seal is used there. But, you should understand that if there is anything you think should be added, just do it. I, and all other builders, have added many "improvements" that we thought would be good - some minor, some major. This is not a "insert tab A into slot B" project but a general pathway where you get to evaluate and plan every step to make a car to your own desires.
No car dealership can offer you as many choices.
