Going under the knife in the morning for my back surgery and driving this car is out of the question till 2017 so if I can sell it, it will make my life easier at this time. You can find it on ebay, Any fellow forum members I'll even give a discount to. God knows I have close to if not more than 40K into this one because of the poor choices I made in the beginning,

Good luck with the sale and I hope your surgery goes well so you can get back out on the track.

Good luck with the surgery, my recovery was long and tiresome. I had both the L4 and L5 micro- diskectomy in 2008. About 6 months of therapy, still need to stretch daily to avoid stiffness. Had a relapse last year that put me down for a month, nothing the Chiropractor couldn't fix. Still learning not to over do it, hope all goes well.

I've been sitting as the "high" bid now for three days. (hayatems6). I'm sure Fact5Racer isn't going to lower his reserve to $12,600 so this car is not going to move unless we get some more bidders. The first time this car went up on eBay it stalled at $14K, I was hoping that seeing it here on the 818 forum we'd get some more action. Doesn't anyone want an R sitting next to their S?

I'm sure if you contact him with a offer he will sell it to you outside of ebay. No need to bid the price up.

How are you feeling post surgery?

How is the back pain -- not the surgery pain, but the pain that led you to surgery? Any improvement?

I hope it was successful, and you have permanent relief!

Also, good luck with the sale.

Regards,

Steve

Im up and moving around, Of course with it only being a week where the fusion took place hurts and I can't leave the bed without my girdle (brace) on. At lease I'm not going up the stairs at my house using my hands on the treads like I did before the surgery, Of course it will be 10-13 weeks before I can lift anything heavier than 10 lbs and don't expect to get back into the race car this season till fall if even then,
big thing for me is trying to decide what I want/can do in the future other than work. Sold my KTM, and my 800S RZR side by side, If I sell the 818R I'm reallt tempted to get the new Yamaha side by side and race that. Dirt bikes are my first passion but I'm scare the back will be too vulnerable. Thinking harnessed into the side by side or 818R should be fine. The 2017 Yamaha can be ordered now with paddle shifters, auto clutch (no pedal) and launch control!

I am told that a fused back is as strong (stronger really) than a back without a fusion. You are supposedly limited only by pain, not by the stability of the back, as you were before the surgery. However, your head is telling you something else as a result of all you've been through to this point.

If racing is your passion, I wouldn't give up on it yet! Get through the rehabilitation, give the fusion a chance to really take hold, and see where that leaves you. They will be able to tell you how well the fusion did, and whether or not new fresh bone has grown to make it secure and strong. Make your decision when you know that, and how well you feel at that point. Don't give up something that important to you when you feel like you do right now.

I know this is a very personal decision, and I don't want to change your mind. However, I at least wanted to share my point of view. Best of luck on your recovery, and hang tough!

Regards,

Steve

Best of luck with the surgery. I know it's not an easy choice to make to sell. If I had the money I would gladly buy your car as a second one. Beautiful build really. Good luck man!

TBH, my new passion is UTV racing and with Yamaha just unvieling it's latest UTV complete with clutchless paddle shifters and launch control, MAn I really would much rather race that!
