Maybe I'm dense, but the 37 1/4" throttle cable that came with the kit seems way too long. I contacted FFR and was told it is correct. So, I have installed the pedal, drilled a hole in the firewall and have all that excess cable to get to my carb, 18 or so inches away. Am I doing something wrong or is there a better solution? Any help would be appreciated.

I always use a Lokar cable. Order a 24" one and you can make it custom length when you mount it. Summit is a good source.

You can cut it down to size. I will send you a photo.

I removed the cable and the one end then used a cutoff wheel to shorten the cable. I used gorilla glue to attach the end onto to the black cable. I reinstalled the inside cable. Make sure you test fit everything because if you cut it to short you will then have to purchase a new one. Take into consideration all the other stuff surrounding the engine like the wiring before you cut it.
