Radiator stone guard?

Is anyone adding a stone guard in front of their radiator? Just saw steel mesh and nomex panels on one of the roadster threads. They are saying negligible impact on radiator's cooling ability. Anyone seen significant stone damage and/or added a guard?

I like the painted nomex, it disappeared nicely and would seem to be less restrictive?

I'm using the nomex radiator protector on my FFCobra .Its GREAT stuff.Strong,easy to cut,light weight.Does NOT restrict air flow.Bugs clean off easily w/a brush.Took 1 can of spray paint (black) to cover both sides.You WILL love it !

I secured it to the radiator w/a bead of silicone with a caulk- gun, to look like a 'weld'. Then painted the weld black.Has been on the car 1/2 year,and stays put,(up to mach 2) LOL

Used an "keep you dog from running through the screen door" guard that we had laying around. There is approx. 2-inches between the screen and the radiator for "crush" distance.

I run one on my challenge car and will add one to the 818R as the tracks here in the NW are hard on radiators especially ones with as much surface space as the challenge car and 818 provide. I have used the one that Ray pointed out on my challenge car and works fine, I may switch to the honeycomb one for the 818 and see how that plays out

I like the way that Nomex honeycomb looks. Isn't that what the Dirt Track Oval Boys use?
