grill in hood scoop opening?

When I went to Shelby museum in Vegas I notices some cobras had a mesh in the opening of the hood scoop. Has anyone done this? If so how was it attached?

i used a scrap piece of nomex. I have a large piece covering the radiator to protect it from rocks and such. took a piece of scrap for the scoop and used a few daps of silicone to hold it in place. Keeps a lot of debris out of the engine compartment

thanks. I am guessing not many builders have done this. Do you have pics of underside of hood to see how you did it?
