I know the trans of choice is the tko 600. I have found a used one for 1600, a t 3650 for 925, and a t 45 for 525. With the roadster weighing in at 2200+# With the torque specs on the 3650, t45 I think they would handle it. I'm just curious on what the installs would be like. I'm trying not to spend the 4500 for the tko

You need to find a different source for the TKO. They're available brand new for $2400-$2500. Not $4500. I've only used T-5's and TKO600's, so the only ones with direct experience. But I'm pretty sure a 3650 only bolts to 4.6L mod motors (SOHC/DOHC) and likely Coyotes since they have the same bell pattern as mod motors. I've not heard anything good about T-45's. Either in these builds or Mustangs for that matter. Seems you'd be better off with a T-5. With that 390 FE you're planning, IMO you need something like a TKO or an upgraded T-5.

I was meaning 4500 total on the trans clutch and bell housing. I was looking at t5 with hardened gears
