How tall are the 15" pin drive guys using? I feel like the 18" haribrand may not fill the wells like I want

Common 15 inch wheel sizes and their diameter:

235/60/15 front. Diameter = 26.10
295/50/15 rear. Diameter = 26.61

The BF Goodrich Rival S 18 inchers I chose for my build:

245/40/18 front. Diameter = 25.7
315/30/18 rear. Diameter = 25.5

The rear size difference is more than the front. But I doubt even the 1 inch difference (1/2 inch difference in how it would fill the wheel wells) would be noticeable. Of course the "look" is quite different between the two with the low profile 18's.

I pulled this off the NITTO website for the 555's for smaller sizes in case you want a slightly taller rear tire.

-----SIZE---------HEIGHT----WIDTH----SUGGESTED RIM-
285/35ZR18------25.94------11.30------9.5-(10.0)-11.0
285/40ZR18------26.97------11.42------9.5-(10.0)-11.0
295/45ZR18------28.31------11.54------9.5-(10.0)-11.0

Edward, is your Roadster complete. I am interested in the front tire size you chose. Does it fit and how does it look? FFR is recommending 255/235/18 for the fronts. However, finding this size has proven to quite the challenge.
Thanks, Greg

Agreed. I couldn't find that exact size either in the tire type/compound I was interested in. I chose the 245/40/18 BF Goodrich Rival S for the front as mentioned before. I studied the dimensions of the various sizes and brands available. There is some variation between brands, but the 245/40/18 BF Goodrich Rival S is very small fractions of an inch different than the recommended 255/235/18's, again depending on brand. I have them mounted, balanced, and on the build. So fit the FF rims just fine. The Roadster is far from complete though, so can't say too much more than that.

The 245's mounted on the build:

Compared to the 255 Nitto's on #7750 Mk4. Hard to see much difference. The side view is a little deceptive because the new tire is closer to the camera. In reality, they are almost exactly the same diameter.
