How many submissions did you do?
I feel like I went a little crazy with the amount of submissions I did. In my profession (architect) we hardly ever propose a single scheme. It's not unusual to start with a half dozen schemes/solutions and wrestle to combine several of the best (based on client input and feedback) into a single scheme. Then, even that scheme gets changed, revised and issued several addendums. The preliminary sketches and partial trace-overs may be in the hundreds when it's all over.
To do a project without client feedback is like working in the dark for me, so I felt I had to cover all the bases.
How many submissions did you do?
I did (8) eight.
..................and that was holding myself back. I would have like to have done 20 more complete with clay models.
My work was initially based on a "for fun" project I developed five years ago. It had a shorter wheelbase and overhangs but not that far off. This was the underlay for taking photos of the clay model in elevation, top view, front and rear perspectives. With these photos as underlays I was able to produce the eight schemes rather quickly. Freehand line drawings with a gray (blue/brown mix) gouche/watercolor wash proved to be fun & simple, but exhausting and at times monotonous.
I'm glad it's over. I'm glad I did it. It was a good portfolio builder, what ever the outcome may be.
