Hey all - Can someone give me a hint where the bracket for the clutch cable mounts to the frame (if it even mounts to the frame) on the MK4. Picture is worth a 1000 words.
Appreciate the help!

Since it's a mustang clutch cable in the kit, the cable's gold anodized bracket went to a fastener welding in to the inner fender on mustangs for decades.
Some guys make a bracket and tie it into the middle 3/4" tubing running from the driver footbox to the front of the car. Other make a bracket and connect it to an available bolt hole tapped into the block.
We just removed the gold bracket and routed the cable through the driver's motor mount. Doesn't seem to move or cause any concerns.

You want a mounting bracket somewhere between the footbox front and the bell housing to keep the cable stable and not move around But there's no single answer for the location. Depends on your engine, headers, etc. Find the routing that gives the smoothest most direct route as far away from any heat sources (headers, etc.) as possible. Then determine a mounting location. Very likely it will require moving the bracket on the cable and also likely it may need to be modified in some way. For my Mk3 with a 302 and straight tube headers, it mounted on one of the engine mounts. But your experience may vary.

It's pretty easy to bend it open with a couple a pair of pliers. Mine ended up in the trash.

About the time I removed my clutch cable bracket I was trying to come up with a throttle return spring bracket for the Holley 640 DP Trimmed it up and installed. Looks like it was made for it.

Thank you all - knowing that there isn't a specific answer will actually give me the chance to create something. I do like the way the bracket was used in the throttle spring bracket....
