My car was inspected and titled in late 2014 and finally hit the road in earnest for the summer of 2015. Although I'm really having fun with driving, I miss the build, so I hang out here pretty regularly. Unfortunately, I didn't document my journey in a build page, but I did post many of the details in single threads - usually as a "how-to".

So, since quite a few of those are now really old, I thought I'd bump them back to the top every so often in an effort to provide support and seek updated comments from some of the newer members so that those threads can help a new round of builders.

Thanks to everyone who helped me build this car - starting with Dave Smith and the wonderful crew at FFR - you all made my dreams come true.

Loading up at FFR on the day I picked 7074 up - October 2009:

End of the build journey, but he beginning of the road - October 2015.....

Such a beautiful build! You really knocked it out of the park. Did I ever tell you Green was my original color choice? The wife struck it down. Man you really make me wish I could'a talked her into it!

your car is so beautiful, and my wife would not let me paint mine green either. I am so eager to get mine going so I can cart it around.

Just completed my build and referenced your forum page many times as I was interested in the originality you were following.

Thanks Chris it's a beautiful car

Be sure to take video. Carting was a huge kick in the butt when I built mine!

How's the Avon's treating you now that you have a few miles on them? Any regrets? I've got my eye on a set along with treadwear lettering. I recall you were 225/60/15 front and 295/50/15 or 245 rears?

Duke,

I really like the Avon tires. They wear surprisingly well for such a sticky compound, but I've had to learn to run much lower tire pressures than I would on a normal car. You're correct on the fronts, but the rears are 245. Even though the narrower sizes work to give the car a bit more period look, they're more than wide enough for the car.
