I can't believe my DVR didn't record the @*%^$#) Indy 500 race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first #@)A$#*$&#^%^#*$( time in 40 years I have missed the race!!!!!!!!
I'm going back to drinken for sure now, and drugs too!!
OK, I feel a little better now, not much but a little.

PS it's amazing how many parts are in a DVR after a dozen 12 gauge rounds of buck shot go through them!

It really was, and sadly very little attention was given to whatever battle may have taken place for Wheldon to have gotten into second place to begin with, I am not sure if they mentioned his name more then half a dozen times during the race.

Still one of the great motor-events on the planet. I wouldve thought the anniv would have gotten more mainstream press coverage. On my bucket list still.

Dave, agree with you there, would love to attend someday just to see it.

It is still sad to me that Tony George felt the need to create the IRL back in the 90's, at that time CART racing was so good, and it instantly divided and killed the sport.

I still remember an interview with Al Unser Jr. who drove for Penske at the time in CART and not being able to compete in the 500. His comment was basically to compete in the Indy 500, is why I drive race cars, must have killed those guys to not compete in the 500.

Dave, I'm getting all the info together right now to buy my tickets and hotel for next year. I have always wanted to go and now's the time to plan for it.
Scott, I couldn't agree more, I remember the first Indy 500 after the split where I believe the IRL was guaranteed the first 8 rows leaving the last 3 rows for CART teams. Cart teams were not allowed to bump into anything higher than the 24th position.
