Do the spacers included in the kit need to be painted to prevent them from rusting?

the fronts are aluminum the rears are steel and need to be painted/coated. test fit them first as I had to file a few and it jacked up the paint.

Yes, put them in a jar of solvent (acetone/pre-prep/lacquer thinner/etc), shake them a bit, pull them out and string them on a coat hanger, use some VHT roll bar / chassis paint, then dry them in the sun for a few hours. Depending on the kit, they may be aluminum or steel, most likely bare steel as mine were.

edit; like he did ;)

I sandblasted them and powder coated them all semi gloss black

Spend an hour and go over all the bare steel parts and remove the burrs, sharp edges, and any general ugliness before paint or PC (worth it). The end result will show it (and you'll have fewer snags...).

Ha! I did something similar, but made them all from stainless.
