Why not use the directions provided? http://www.factoryfive.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/WIPERS-new_ROADSTER_.pdf There is a good pic of the motor installed.

I'd like a more secure mounting method and I've seen quite a few other pretty neat modifications.
Was hoping for a little less utilitarian method.
Also, please know that I'm way off the reservation since I'm doing a 383 SBC with a ZF 6-Speed and Moser TSD 500 rear end so why not see what folks have changed, if anything.

Thanks, I have the directions, but was looking for other options before mounting the wiper motor.

I'm a compulsive modifier, but this is a case where I don't think you're going to improve on the very straightforward mounting method for the wiper. The Lucas wiper motor assembly has no mounting brackets or ears (nothing...) and the only real option is exactly what is shown. It's very secure. Not going anywhere. I've seen guys mount them in several different locations depending on what's underhood, and the flex cable drive allows for that. But ultimately I've only seen in held in place via the strap around the drive motor. This is my completed Mk4. Strictly conventional.

I found an old pic of when I installed the mounts, before the body went back on. And went out to the garage just a minute ago and took a couple fresh ones. Hope these help. btw, my firewall is forward about 1.5".
I installed a thicker piece of aluminum on the other side of the firewall and ran nut-serts thru the wall into the rear piece and I also bought the rubber pad from **********.

Mine is installed just like the others pictured, but in very tight confines. I added a small piece of 3/4" aluminum angle on the under-dash side of the firewall to act as a stiffener, too. Remember that when the body is on, the motor is tucked pretty far back under the cowl area.
