Question guys

I just received a new fuel tank from breeze , it has a wax film on the outside and inside of the tank , any suggestions on what to use to clean the inside of the tank? I don't want the film to gum up the filter , injectors etc . Thanks for the help .

I would start with something simple, like Dawn, hot water, and a brillo pad. If that doesn't work, move up to Simple Green, or Purple Power.

Lets not go crazy here fellas. If you would like to proceed with an abundance of caution for the inside of the tank, how about 4 oz of solvent such as Xylene or Acetone or gas. Pour in tank, swish around, dump out on white paper. If you don't get any color or particles then you are clean. If not rinse and repeat.

I'm with Mark on this one. Use a solvent that will dissolve/remove wax. I doubt that soap and water will work. That said, this is the first time I've heard of a tank with a coating of wax on the inside. Check with Breeze on this. Oh, wait, isn't Mark the owner of Breeze?

I already got with mark on this , he's been very helpful , mark said its just a film ford puts on it to coat the tank while its sitting on the shelf . I know it seems like nothing , just didn't want to risk my engine on something I wasn't sure of . When I can ask a simple question . Thanks for the responses !
