Is there a certain backspacing I should be looking for when it comes to front and back wheels when dealing with the MK4. Trying to find some nice wheels, thanks

Lucky,

This may help:
http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?1869-Wheel-amp-Tire-Specifications-Roadsters-and-Type-65-Coupes

My wheels are:
Front: 17x9, 6" backspacing;
Rear: 17x11, 8.75" backspacing

and the tires are Kumho Ecsta XS Front: 245/45R17, Rear: 315/35R17

My donor was a 2001 GT, so these sizes are what works on 2001 spindles and real axle.

So if I bought 17x10.5 with 6.8" backspacing and 28mm offset.....17x9 with 5.94" backspacing and 30mm offset, would that work with the full kit and the mossier rear end???

Long story short, I have to (but very happy about it) take care of my Grandkids for awhile, so I needed to get a family lawyer, airtickets, beds, ect. so I had to give it up. Still very happy, I have a MK4 that I won and my Grandkids that I love staying with me. One is a 12 year old boy and we are both very excited about building it together.
