NOOOOOOOO!!!
I'm so sad to hear this. Wade has been a great friend to our hobby and helped countless builders and dreamers along the way.

I was lucky enough to have met Wade as a member of the Capital Area Cobra Club; he was a great guy with a wonderful positive attitude whenever you spoke with him. He built great version of these cars and was well known as one of the best autocross drivers!
Rest in Peace Wade ...

I got the news from Mark D. this morning, ironically enough while competing at an autocross and actually planned to send Wade a message at the end of the day. It's heartbreaking... I met Wade & Beth about 14 years ago and last spoke with him a just a few weeks ago. A genuine good guy. This is devastating news for our community. My heartfelt condolences to Beth, their kids and family.
Jeff
Very sad news.....Wade was absolutely one of the corner stones of the original FFR community. He will be missed by many. Heartfelt condolences to his wife Beth and their children.

Wade was one of the best and as Olli stated, one of the originals. For those that have met him, they will never forget his contagious positive attitude and smile. For those that will meet him up stairs, he will be easy to recognize because he'll be the guy ripping up the autoX course. I will miss you my friend. Beth and family, my heart goes out to you.
We need to come up with something to honor Wade similar to what we've done for Robert.

Unfortunately I don't know Wade. Was he a builder or sponsor? He was obviously a very popular guy. RIP

I made a brief visit to see Beth today. She is doing better than I would be in her circumstances. There were several people there helping out, so I only stayed long enough to give her a hug or two and leave my phone number and an offer of help of any kind she needs. She told me Wade had been to the docs for a standard checkup in February (I think) and had no problems. Saturday during the day he had some beer brewing friends over. Saturday evening they went to dinner. No hint of anything wrong....and then there was.

Mark Dougherty called to let me know about Wade (above on left with customer Bob Lennon in 2002). Wade was such a great guy and this is a real terrible thing. Obviously, many of you have known Wade on the forums and in person for many, many years. Wade was one of those guys that you were happy to call your friend, and he was a crazy-fast autocross racer. He was as helpful to everyone as he was selfless. This feels a lot like Robert Fedderson. Maybe we're not allowed to have the company of such great people for too long. I don't know.
On behalf of everyone at Factory Five Racing, I send out my deepest sympathies to the Chamberlain family.

I looked on our Factory Five server and found these pictures of Wade from back at Carlisle in 2002.

Wade and some brave customers endured rain storms during the 2002 Carlisle Show.

Wade wanted to take me out in his Factory Five with his custom rain gear. Very funny guy!

In such a sad and serious post, I hesitated to put these pictures up, but knowing Wade, I think he’d get a good laugh. During some torrential rain storms at Carlisle, Wade showed off his driving goggles.
Wade - we will all miss you very much.

Thanks Dave for sharing these photos of Wade
I will always remember Wade as the one who would travel through anything in an open top car.
I met him at his home when I was first building my roadster such a friendly helpful guy.
I remember him at Whitby's sponging the rain water from his roadster about an inch or two deep after driving through the rain to get to the party. Before he added drain plugs to his floor boards.
We traveled with wade and Beth to the first few Ohio Cobra Club Spring Flings, and will miss him. What a loss to our FFR family
Our condolences to Beth and her family

We went to the Celebration of Wade's Life yesterday. I continue to be amazed at the tremendous circle of friends he had. I will estimate there were 100+ people there. I don't know his work, extended family, or beer brewing friends, but our local Capital Area Cobra Club was well represented. What blew me away was how many local DC area autocrossers attended also. I saw at least a dozen that I recognized. 10 of those run other classes than ours. They are all younger, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, than I, which means they needed to take a day off work w/ probably 3 days notice. Next weekend I run a BMW autocross on Sat. and an SCCA autocross on Sunday. I will be there, I will probably have fun, but it will be much less fun than it might have been.
