So like i said in my my title I'm looking for an 818S either fully or mostly built in the NY/NJ/CT/PA area, PM me if interested in parting with yours.

OK so my question, i know that the Ford Ecoboost is being supported as a possible engine, But I'm a Chevy guy and wondering if there is any way to add any of the new 4 and 6 cylinder engines into the 818??

the LFX is an excellent engine, V8 roadster had made some miata kits and the reviews are awesome. I know it comes in some all-wheel drive but the transmission and transfer case are incompatible.

Thanks

You can fit quite a lot of engines in there but so far the only engines that have been completed that we are aware of are the ecoboost, Subaru H4 and H6 engines, and some electrics. Oh and a VW 4 cyl TDI. Couple guys are doing rotaries but not finished yet.

I'm sure you could fit a GM 4 or 6 cyl in there but it will be a lot more work and you'll need to figure out if an adapter is available (or get one custom made $$$) to adapt your chosen engine to the Subaru transmission (or get a different transmission like from a Porsche).

Nah, I'd run the factory transaxle with the entire thing transverse mounted. That LFX would do pretty well. I had an Ecotec that I was going to build for an Ariel Atom. Would have been amazeballs but TMI won't sell a roller, nor could I find an Atom2 the way I liked.

And Frank from Canada is pretty far along with his VW VR6(twin turbo) install! Be the first to do a Chevy motor!
