Thought I would post some photos from the Shelby Museum in Vegas. No doubt most of you guys have been, but thought I would share what was a very cool day. We took the 90 minute tour that was incredibly interesting. Jim had known Caroll for decades and knew so many personal facts about the guy. We never did find out what Shelby said to Enzo when he turned down his job offer! Just that it was in 'true Texan style'.

Knowing that Kirkham make the Cobra bodies for Shelby I thought I would enquire about the supersnake hood, as this was something I was interested in. I know they are aluminum, but $10k!! Hence the reason I 'was' interested! It was great seeing the Daytona close up and learning about its development, and the interesting fact that Shelby didn't want to bring any of them back from England after they had served their purpose. It was only when he discovered it was cheaper to ship them back to the States rather than pay the UK government for disposing of them when he changed his mind! So they were nearly lost forever.

Here's some pics..

I could have stayed longer taking photos but I felt that the missus was losing the will to live!

I took the same photos a few weeks ago. I also took some low looking under the front, sides and close-ups. I'll post those also if anyone would like to see them

I enjoyed the second visit last year as much as my first. It is something you can do over and over. There are so many details that you can miss. I think they rotate a few of the cars in and out occasionally, too. Each of the guides have a different story and perspective that makes it so interesting.

Thanks for the pics,

WEK.

Only been to Vegas once - for business - and unfortunately didn't have time to make the trip to the museum. Definitely on the list in the event of a return visit - thanks for the inspiring photos!!!

You did a great job with the photos! I had the opportunity to tour there myself, and you really captured the spirit of the museum. Very cool! I hope you brought a souvenir home - I picked up a Cobra sign for my garage...

Thanks Al,
I have keyrings, T shirts, model car, cap, etc!!
I would have loved a sign but was rapidly running out of space in my luggage!
