All of the panels are the same thickness, except on the 33 Hot Rod's Firewall.

A word to the wise, I cut up this large panel to fabricate a bunch of aluminum parts I needed to complete the interior. Intending to just pick up a piece later from a local metal shop. In hindsight it was a terrible idea, I could easily have purchased small pieces of .040 on ebay. and saved the large piece.

I've called 6 metal shops and no one has 6061-t6 .040 in stock.

one guy has Alum 6061-T4 .040” x 21” x 50 1/8” sheet for a whopping $225 and he's an hour away.

Anyone not using theirs feel like parting with theirs? I will pay for shipping plus your favorite beer.

I have purchased all my aluminum from them. And I've had to fabricate every piece from scratch due to so many changes on my Roadster.

You have to have a local metal supplier, you call, if not in stock they order, you pickup. Mine will shear for a cut fee... I use regular unhardened AL @ .050 for most of my generic work like interior pieces and usually buy a couple sheets at a time. It's easy to work with and if you anneal it you can bend, beat or roll it into any contour. The doors that my friend Mark made for his Lotus 11 are simply amazing!

Amazon often has large sheets with prime shipping. That's where I get a lot of mine. 5052 is cheaper, more likely to come in large sheets, and since it isn't structural, will be fine vs 6061.

Yes, I got about 8 sq ft of 5052 from metal marts for about $60 including about 10 cuts. It's strong, bends easy, has a slightly nicer finish than the 6061.

Rear firewall on the 818 is thicker than the rest. :)
