It seems that there are a couple things you need a shop press for press out the spindles and bearings. For those of you who have done this work what would you recommend.
6 ton press 4 in work travel:

or do you need the real deal 20 ton press (on a deep discount)

Has anyone figured out any other solution for this work?
Thanks for your help

20 seemed to do the best job for me.

Not sure how big of a discount you have access to at Harbor Freight, but they are giving out 25% off coupons for use on Easter Sunday next weekend if you can wait until then.

Did mine this past week with a 20 ton HF. I don't think a 6 ton would be strong enough.
I used the sleeves in this set to get everything in and out.

I also had a set of seal tool to install them.

I would go for the 20 just so that you have it for down the road as well.

You can do it with the 6 ton but you have to strip the hubs down all the way, I would go for the 20ton way more useful.

Just another vote for the 20 ton. I have that exact same press and spending a few more dollars now will pay dividends for decades.

I've got the 6 ton, but I only use it for small things like U-Joint, ball joints and control arm bushings. It's old, but I think it came form Harbor Freight or Northern Tool.

I have never used my press and thought "I wish this press were smaller", however, often wished it were bigger.
