Hey guys,

I thought I would share the latest renderings of the Factory Five-Koni GTM being built by customer Gary Cheney for the 2011 SEMA Show. The car is being built for NASA time trials and will debut at SEMA in November. The car is at the body shop right now and this is the final graphics scheme.

One of the most stand out parts of this car is when you look inside and see all of the frame's tubing and aluminum panels in white!

Gary, that looks awesome and is old school race car as well I believe. I think a lot of guys still do paint their frames white to help any cracks or stress marks easier to spot.

The car is going to look awesome for sure!

Looks like I am going with Paint. instead of wrapping.

Paint it if its a showcar.

Wrap it if its a racecar.

Mixed use, take your pick.

Beautiful Gary. Nice work and fast build too! NASA time trials you say? Ok I'm there. The gauntlet is thrown :)

It's gonna cost me only $3700 more to have it painted. The wrap was gonna be multi layers which I think would look too cheap for SEMA. Plus I have had great luck with the quality of the bodyshop that I am using. I also think that the car will POP a lot more with paint than vinyl. The car will not get a lot of track use, mainly dialing it in for possible marketing shootouts and/or roadtests. With my personal income being around 25-30% of what it was even just three years ago, my days of $450 entry fees, $800 in diesel fuel to get to the track, etc, etc are over.

You should talk to 3M...with a car like that, that is definitely going to SEMA, I bet you could get a sponsored wrap.

By the way, same thing with tires. Toyo hook us up with tires for all of our SEMA builds, my buddy's shop gets a huge discount on Pirelli's for his SEMA cars.
